HPC10 IS NEW 10-WATT CONVERTER SUITABLE FOR RAILWAY APPLICATIONS WITH ¼ BRICK PINING AND 18:1 INPUT
The HPC10-W/O plug-and-play DC/DC converter is a new 10-watt converter by Autronic
Ideal for PCB mounting, it offers an extremely wide input voltage range from 9 V to 154 V (18:1) with 10 watts of power. A single converter thus covers all nominal input volt-ages for rail vehicles and battery-powered applications from 12 V to 110 V, including a tolerance range of +/- 40 %. Typical applications are switches, repeaters, displays, and other infotainment in the field of transportation or mobile devices in harsh environments.
The converter completely meets the EN 50155 regarding temperature, shock, vibration, as well as the railway specific criteria for EMC according to EN50121-3-2, as well as Surge, Burst, and ESD, without additional components.
In addition, the converter has an integrated hold-up time of 10 ms (Class OT4/ST1 and 2), which makes the compact converter unique. The size is 55.2 x 54 x 25 mm. The absolute highlight is that the pining was chosen according to the well-known ¼ brick. Using it in existing designs is possible, further, filtering is not necessary. The efficiency is up to an impressive 84 % and cooling, except natural convection, is not necessary.
Low inrush current limit, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection are integrated as standard. The converter is also open-circuit and continuous short-circuit proof. Autronic guarantees fire protection according to EN 45545-2 (HL3).
Versions with 12 V and 15 V output are available, and 5 V and 24 V are under development. Further outputs are available on request.
