Autronic HFC100-W/G – High-Performance 100 Watt DC/DC Converter for Railway & rough environment acc. EMV06 Rangierfunk 02
AUTRONIC completes the family of railway DC/DC converters with ultra-wide input with the HFC100-W/O-C. The brand new converter with 100 Watt output power offers an input range of 14.4 <->154 VDC and thus sets new standards in its class. On a small space and flat design all requirements for the use in railway technology according to EN 50155 and EN50121-3-2 are fulfilled.
AUTRONIC thus proves emphatically that the plug-and-play solution with impressive efficiency of up to 90% makes design-in easier. The railway-specific EMC requirements are met without additional use of external components. Without further filtering, the emission via the lines or the housing is fulfilled according to class B and the strict requirements of EMC06 Version 02 are met. Other features include active inrush current limiting, active reverse polarity protection (up to 160 V) and protection against overvoltage, overtemperature and overcurrent. The integrated hold-up-time of 10 ms is a matter of course. There is no requirement for a minimum load. It is also possible to operate three converters in parallel.
Two LEDs (for input and output) indicate whether a voltage is present or the output is active. The HFC100 can be switched on and off via an enable signal.
All European input voltages from 24 V to 110 Vnom are covered by a single converter, which simplifies design-in and thus the approval of customer applications. The galvanically isolated and conformal coated (Class PC2) HFC100-W was developed according to temperature class OT2 for 100 W and OT4 for 60 W. In addition to shock/vibration according to EN 61373, the choice of PCB material was based on already performed fire and smoke tests according to EN 45545-2 (Hazard Level 3).
Besides the open-frame solution with 24V output voltage, two further versions are available, one with IP20 housing or for DIN Rail mounting. Other output voltages are available on request.
