HFBC80-W/KS – THE NEW DC/DC CONVERTER BY AUTRONIC WITH LATEST TECHNOLOGY IN COMPACT DESIGN
We are glad to introduce you the brand new DC/DC converter by Autronic. HFBC80-W/Ks comes out in the familiar compact housing for wall mounting.
The device offers an ultra-wide input voltage range from 14.4 V to 154 V with 80 Watt power now. In other words, it means a 33% power increase compared to the previous version.
A single converter thus covers all internal on-board voltages for railway (24 V, 36 V, 72 V and 110 V), including the tolerance range of +/- 40 % required by EN 50155, in a single device. Therefore, this ultra-wide solution is ideal for companies operating worldwide to perform the qualification of own applications cost-efficiently with one converter.
The HFBC80-W/Ks is fully compliant with the EN 50155 regarding temperature, shock, vibration, as well as the rail-road specific criteria for EMC according to EN50121-3-2, as well as Surge, Burst and ESD, without any additional components. Moreover, the converter has an integrated hold up time of 10 ms (class S2), which makes the compact converter unique (dimensions: 113 x 46 x 35 mm). The design is conformable to temperature class OT4, ST1+2 (-40…85 °C). It achieves very high efficiency (up to 92%) by combining booster and active clamp at the optimized operating point.
More properties are inrush current limitation, overvoltage and overtemperature protection and an active reverse polarity protection. Furthermore, the converter is open-circuit protected and permanently short-circuit proof. Designers can connect the modules in parallel and the output voltage can be trimmed. Currently the DC/DC converter is available with an output voltage of 12 V. Those who are interested can request customized outputs.
