New series of radiation-tolerant crystal oscillators by FMI

Frequency Management International (FMI) has launched a new series of highly reliable, radiation-tolerant crystal oscillators targeted for system applications in the growing Commercial (New) Space market segment.

FMI offers this new series in the miniature SMD 5×3.2 mm (C55 series) and SMD 5×7 mm platforms (C75 and C85 series).


These Commercial Space targeted products offer TID rating and provide Single Event Latch-up (SEL) performance. Two features that rival traditional Hi-Rel Space solutions. The radiation-tolerant crystal oscillators include a cost-optimized approach to mitigate mission-critical reliability needs. FMI’s new products uniquely offer best in class cost/performance for new system applications in Commercial Space, typically deployed in LEO, MEO, GEO, and the related robotic missions. Commercial Space stands for Small-sat, Cube-sat, etc.
