History
Winslow Adaptics was founded in 1977 by David Winslow. The company relocated from the South East of England to Wales in 1982 and moved to its present location in the Brecon Beacons in 1993. By the mid-1980s, Winslow Adaptics was the largest exporter of stamped & formed contact IC sockets. In 1982 it acquired Jermyn Manufacturing and today continues to manufacture from original drawings and tooling, some of which date back to 1965. The company continued to grow its portfolio of products with the addition of the ‘Adapter program’ in the early nineties when Marconi approached it for a solution to an obsolete PGA device, which they could replace with a functionally identical PLCC. JERMYN SEMICONDUCTOR HARDWARE
Jermyn Manufacturing is synonymous with making transistor clips and mounting pads, sockets, heatsinks and other associated semiconductor accessories in the 1960s and 1970s.
