HFBC60-W/Ks with latest technology in compact design

HFBC60-W/Ks is the Autronic’s DC/DC converter
with the latest technology in compact designs

The HFBC60-W/Ks for wall mounting developed by Autronic offers an ultra-wide input voltage range from 14.4 V to 154 V with 60 watts of power. A single converter thus covers all international on-board voltages for rail vehicles (24 V, 36 V, 72 V and 110 V), including the tolerance range of +/-40 % required by EN 50155, in one unit.

Areas of application

Optimal areas of use for the HFBC60-W/Ks DC/DC converter are applications such as box PCs, display controls, fans, customer information systems, intercoms, and many other applications in harsh environments.

Key features

The permanent operating temperature of the unit is between -40 °C and 70 °C, for short periods even up to 85 °C, and this without any derating. The full encapsulation helps to ensure that vibrations (up to 5.72 m/s2) or shocks (up to 50 m/s2) are no problem, as is use in environments with high levels of moist heat. Moreover, extensively verifiable fire protection (Hazard Level 3, R24/R25), simple installation and high efficiency (up to 91%) facilitate use.

The product meets the EMC according to EN50121-3-2, as well as Surge, Burst and ESD without additional components. The converter has an integrated hold up time of 10 ms, which makes the compact converter unique with dimension of 113 x 46 x 35mm.

An inrush current limitation and overvoltage & overtemperature protection are integrated as standard. Additionally, the converter is open-circuit and continuous short-circuit proof. The modules can be connected in parallel, and the output voltage is adjustable.

In conclusion, the company produces both versions with passive reverse polarity protection and types with active reverse polarity protection.

Availability

Currently, the DC/DC converter is available with an output voltage of 5 V, 12 V and 24 V.
