Introduction
The galvanically isolated HFC200-W DC/DC converters for chassis mounting offer an ultra-wide input voltage range from 14.4 V to 154 V with 200 watts of power. A single converter thus covers all international on-board supply voltages for rail vehicles (24V, 36V, 72V and 110V). This means it includes the tolerance range of +/- 40 % required by EN 50155 in a single device.
Key Features
The plug-and-play solutions meet all the requirements of EN 50155 with regard to temperature, shock, vibration, damp heat and the railway-specific criteria for EMC in accordance with EN 50121-3-2. In this way, no additional components are needed.
Furthermore, you can rely on an integrated hold up time of 10 ms, numerous protective functions and an active inrush current limitation, which make the DC/DC converters unique. The efficiency is up to 91%, the 200 W output power is available over the entire temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and under all permissible operating conditions, without any derating.
The flyback converters are open-circuit proof and permanently short-circuit proof. They are mounted directly on the chassis for easy heat dissipation. In the open-frame version (W/O), three small heat conducting pads on the underside are sufficient for heat transfer to the chassis. This makes the protective-coated converter ideal for railroad technology and power-hungry applications in harsh environments (e.g. industrial trucks, Box-PCs).
The PCB material has been carefully selected and tested for fire protection in accordance with EN45545-2 R25 (HL 3).
Conclusions
The HFC200 solutions are available as versions with a single output of 12 V or 24 V. In addition, other output voltages are available on request.
